About me

Helping International Students Build Real UK Careers

Hello! I’m Farhoon Asim, a UK-based career strategist, TEDx speaker, and founder of The UK Job Institute.

My mission is to help international students navigate the complex UK job market and secure visa-sponsored roles. I do this through practical, honest coaching rooted in my own journey—from rejected applicant to Big Four hire and startup growth leader.

I know the fear, confusion, and rejection international graduates face because I’ve lived it myself. That’s why I’m dedicated to giving clear, actionable guidance that actually works in the real world.

My Story: From Karachi to the UK

In 2016, I arrived in the UK as a 19-year-old student from Karachi, Pakistan.

I was shy, homesick, and completely unprepared for how tough the UK job market would be. My first months were filled with uncertainty—I called my family constantly, worried I’d made a mistake.

Over the next few years, I survived university by sheer determination, working part-time jobs and facing over 500 rejections before finally cracking the system.

That experience wasn’t just humbling. It taught me the real rules of UK hiring, and set me on the path to help others avoid the same mistakes.

Building a Career Without Connections

I didn’t have a network or family in the UK to open doors.

What I had was hustle.

For every role, I messaged 20–30 strangers on LinkedIn—not begging for referrals, but asking for honest advice. I studied what employers really wanted and adapted my approach.

That determination paid off:

  • KPMG UK (2019–2020): Audit Graduate, securing my Tier 2 visa sponsorship in a competitive environment.
  • Raindrop FinTech (2021–2022): Growth Lead and third hire, helping scale revenue from £6 million to £20 million in just 15 months.
  • Antler Cohort 7: Selected for a leading venture builder programme to validate my mission of helping international students.

Why I Started The UK Job Institute

After seeing countless students stuck in the same cycle of rejection and confusion, I knew I had to share what I’d learned.

In January 2025, I launched The UK Job Institute—a step-by-step training platform built by international students, for international students.

Our goal is ambitious but clear: help 1,000+ graduates land UK-sponsored jobs by the end of 2026.

We offer:
✅ 1:1 and group coaching
✅ AI-enhanced CV and cover letter support
✅ Tier 2 sponsorship strategy
✅ Mock interviews with real feedback
✅ Affordable, community-based learning

My Coaching Philosophy

“Borders aren’t stop signs. They’re speed bumps.”

Too often, international students see their visa status as a barrier they can’t overcome.

I believe it’s a sign of resilience.

My coaching is honest, direct, and practical. I don’t sugarcoat challenges—but I show you exactly how to overcome them, step by step.

Recognised Expert & Educator

I’m proud to share my approach beyond coaching clients.

  • TEDx Speaker: “Turning ‘I’m an International Student’ Into a Superpower.”
  • Guest Lecturer: Regularly invited to universities and incubators to speak on cold outreach, job search strategy, growth marketing, and personal branding.

I believe knowledge shouldn’t be gatekept. I’m committed to sharing everything I’ve learned so students don’t have to figure it out the hard way.

Results That Speak for Themselves

  • 150+ students placed in UK-sponsored roles
  • Over $1.1 million in revenue generated from my coaching communities
  • 79,000+ followers on LinkedIn
  • Over 50 million organic impressions
  • Students hired in Big Four firms, fintech startups, engineering, and healthcare

These are more than stats. They’re proof that a systematic, ethical approach works—even for those starting with nothing but determination.
